О некоторых, впрочем, можно хотя бы строить догадки. Например, в 1853 г. Ф. Спринг, профессор физиологии льежского университета, описал человеческие кости, найденные в одной из пещер близ Намюра в Бельгии. Кости были столь ветхими, что буквально рассыпались в руках.
