Так, если, например, клиент признается своему адвокату, что украл яблоко, адвокат не может встать в суде и сказать, что его клиент этого не делал. Тем не менее, какими бы убедительными не были улики против обвиняемого, если он настаивает, что он невиновен, а пятьдесят свидетелей ошибаются, то задача барристера – бесстрашно бороться за своего клиента.

Если вам интересно, почему я перехожу от статистики расходов на «судебную систему» (суды, юридическая помощь и преследование) за 2010 год к статистике расходов на систему правосудия (судебная система плюс тюрьмы, общественные работы и т. д.) за 2016 год, а затем возвращаюсь к судебной системе за 2018 год, то это связано с безумной непоследовательностью методологии Совета Европы, которая меняется, видимо, по прихоти, каждый год.
